You will be working with vulnerable residents and you need to be comfortable working

The ideal candidate would have experience in the care of others, demonstrate common sense and a calm manner in dealing with disruptions and challenges. A high level of discretion is required and the person must be capable of building relationships and delivering personalized care.

Job Description
Support Staff
Key responsibility
The Support Staff will be responsible for offering quality of life services to residents by offering personal care services, responding to their needs and request for assistance, dealing with behaviors, maintaining their medical records and their personalized care plans, as well as assisting in delivering the nutritional program and participating in activities with the residents.
Performance objectives:
1. Personal Care Services
To provide personal and bedside care services to residents by ensuring daily guidance, attentive care and understanding, by following personal care plans, assisting with comfort and mobility needs and also assisting with ADLs as required.
2. Patient Type Care
To provide patient type care services to residents by following medical professional care guidelines and basic treatments, administer medication and apply limitations and restrictions as per recommendations.
3. Maintaining a pleasant and secure home
To ensure a pleasant, stable and secure home environment by responding immediately to calls from patients for assistance, ensuring proper response to needs and behaviors and demonstrating common sense and a calm manner dealing daily challenges.
To understand, adapt, accommodate and assist special care patients with mental challenges and/or temporary disability daily challenges by ensuring appropriate care and comfort, ensuring their safety and security and that of their colleagues, minimize the risk of accidents and adjust daily programs and activities as required.
4. Maintaining records
To document accurately the data for each resident file and share information from the previous shift, complete activities log, accidents, behavior reports as well as primary worker duties.
5. Daily activities
To maintain residents mental and physical well being by assisting and encouraging residents to participate in exercise programs and daily scheduled activities, outings and drives.
6. Nutritional programs
To assist residents at meal times when needed and assist them with eating if necessary. Provide beverages and snacks at scheduled times.
